Nestled into the Umpqua Forest, Eugene, Oregon is a very busy college town that bustles about 24/7. A very rainy urban oasis in the middle of dense green forest. Within this town, among the unsuspecting human race, live vampires, just like anywhere else in the world. Currently staying on the Northern outskirts are a coven of governing vampires dedicated to the keeping of the Code. The Code is the vampire law that all vampires must abide. Of course, there are delinquents.
Live as a vampire or human in the world of Ashen Nights. Abide by the Code or break it and face the consequences. Create your own coven or your own empire... For the vampire, the whole world is a playground.

[Introduction to Sidewalk]
Running, running, always running But never getting anywhere Panting, reaching, struggling, gasping Falling, always falling You'll never reach the other side You'll never make it out alive So why try?
Everyone has a past. Everyone has a history, a tale of horror, a dark secret they don't want anyone to know about. When your own life is awash with misery and sorrow, you stop wondering why the others look beaten too. You don't need their suffering added to your own. You learn to deal with the grief by yourself. You close your heart, so you cannot feel, but the world doesn't stop crying.
The nightmare is never ending It just goes on and on It waits for you, once have have awoken Waiting for you to come back to it When all that awaits you is horror, fear, death Why bother to sleep?
Yes, we all have our own story, our own unique tale of woe. But they're all the same really, in the end. A story about sadness, pain, heartbreak. No one can change the past. But you can change the future. The past says who you were. Only you can say who you will be. By the way you act today. By the way you act tomorrow, and the day after that. By the way you cope with the hand you were dealt. Those who have courage overcome the darkness and step forth into the light. And it is here, in this place of new beginnings, where such things happen. This is the place where the scars of the past are healed, the place where the frightened and abused learn to trust again. This is the place where the wild at heart at last learn to dream once more.
Here is your out Ahead of you, the end to the nightmares It's not the light at the end of the tunnel It's another, stronger light, there in the distance There, on the horizon, coming with the rising sun I know it looks far, but I'll be there with you Every step of the way Together, we can escape the torment Are you coming?
Tales of mermaids are nearly universal. The first known mermaid stories appeared in Assyria, ca. 1000 BC. Atargatis, the mother of Assyrian queen Semiramis, was a goddess who loved a mortal shepherd and in the process killed him. Ashamed, she jumped into a lake to take the form of a fish, but the waters would not conceal her divine beauty. Thereafter, she took the form of a mermaid — human above the waist, fish below — though the earliest representations of Atargatis showed her as being a fish with a human head and legs, similar to the Babylonian Ea.
But little did she no, the man was no Shepard. He was a king: someone who ruled a greater empire than the one she once lived in long ago. When the body of this dear Shepard was found, revenge spurred upon the lords of the Hevengail (The Empire that the murdered king ruled) and used vasts amount of money to find this blood thirsty killer.
There evidence revealed that Atargatis was the one who killed the man. Assyrian told the other empire that they could not afford a war, and that the queen, there water god, was nowhere to be found. War broke out, and since there was no solid leadership in Atargatis's Kingdom, they fell like all other empires.
The Lords of Hevengail captured hundreds of people and used them as slaves until they were no longer in need of assistance. Leaders of Atargatis's Kingdom were immediately slit in the throats for their intolerable actions to defend their kingdom. The rest who revealed no harm were used as slaves until they could no longer be assistance.
When this happened, they mocked Atargatis by throwing the useless slaves into the see for drowning purposes. They laughed at Atargatis and sung to her foolishness.
Atargatis heard the news of her fallen empire right before people were being thrown into the water to die. She wept and blamed herself for being such a foolish woman.
Than bodies began to fall around her. Dead. Cold. Tears began to fall down her cheeks as she found her nanny dead on the ocean floor. But something magical happened. As her tears hit the nanny, the body started to turn back to a more lively color. Her legs formed into a fin like state. In a matter of a few minutes she was alive, and a mermaid like Atargatis.
Hope began to come back to Atargatis as she soon figured out that her tears could bring back the lives of people and transform them into mermaids. With each person she brought back to life, her scales began to change into the blue color they once were.
10 years later, Atargatis healed enough people to bring back the empire she once had. Except it was underwater: a new world that has never been seen before. Men loyal to her made pitchforks and arrows to prepare for revenge against the Hevengail Empire. To Prepare for War.
Welcome to Northmark, a rugged town just south of the Canadian border. Off to a slow start in the early 1940’s, it’s bustle has certainly picked up. Most of the community are native folk from the surrounding towns. Some are not. If you’re looking for action, you want the heart of Northmark. Veer about twenty miles outside of that though? And you’re alone in the forest, and who knows what can get to you out there.
In Midnight, Immortal you have the choice to roleplay characters of your choice. Be a human, just trying to survive in the eerie city. Or be a hunter, a vampire. The creatures of dead hearts who might just have a pulse. The vampire’s live in secrecy, beyond the veils of human imagination and nothing farther than that- or so they hope. Coven lands provide sanctuary, but only for the deserving. Define good and evil in your own terms, and become the next Dracula, or rewrite the legends.
Based loosely off of vampire ideas and ideals from Stephanie Meyer’s ‘Twilight’ Series. Characters however must be original. Welcome to the Dark.
Primal City, a city of happy times, where the grass is greener on your side than it is on the other side. Move here or just visit here on vacation. The locals will fill you with stories of the town legends of humans turning into animals and fighting off those like them. Historically rich, and well off economically, Primal city is a happy and fun town with the local carnivals and Primal Park there is so much to do.
At least that's what the locals wants you to think. The locals are all actually what the legends say their ancestors were. Humans who can change into animals. But...an infection in one from a time ago led one Therianthrope to infect humans into being like them...these are called Weres. They change into their animal form upon experiencing anger and have no control or choice during the lunar phases to change, unlike the Therianthrope counterpart.
Through the generations, the Therianthrope and Weres have always been at war with each other, spreading throughout the world, but their origin is in Primal City. And now...as more tourists are led into the city...who knows what will happen.
