Nestled into the Umpqua Forest, Eugene, Oregon is a very busy college town that bustles about 24/7. A very rainy urban oasis in the middle of dense green forest. Within this town, among the unsuspecting human race, live vampires, just like anywhere else in the world. Currently staying on the Northern outskirts are a coven of governing vampires dedicated to the keeping of the Code. The Code is the vampire law that all vampires must abide. Of course, there are delinquents.
Live as a vampire or human in the world of Ashen Nights. Abide by the Code or break it and face the consequences. Create your own coven or your own empire... For the vampire, the whole world is a playground.
Updates June 28th Zo will be gone until July 7 and today is gypsydancer's 18th birthday. Happy Birthday!

The Rules
Here are the rules and other useful information. If you're looking for information of vampires specificly then use the Quick Link in the table to the left or go to the Vampires board. The rules must be read and abided by at all times while you're here so it would be a good idea to read them.

Play Your Own Character Power playing and god modding are in no way tolerated by me and will not be allowed here. If I see it happen, the first time I will send you a warning and an example of powerplaying. Any more offences thereafter will result in a game-wide visible warning. If you feel someone is powerplaying, I am to know. So private message me.
Application You must submit an application and have it accepted before you post anywhere else in character.
Perfection Avoid cliches. Perfect characters on first sight will not be accepted. If anyone portrays perfection I will be very annoyed. Make your character original. We did not all come from broken homes, have raven black hair. If your character is too perfect, it is annoying to everyone else. Also falling under the originality cause, no Twlight series characters or characters based on them.
Post Minimum Minimum word count is 200 words. This RPG is meant for the intermediate/advanced roleplayer and therefore 200 words is not a high amount to ask. If you cannot make a 200 word average in your posts than this is not the place for you.
Grammar and Post Composition I am not one to care too much about spelling mistakes as long as your post is still easily readable. If I cannot make out what you are saying then I will not reply regardless of how long we have been volleying posts. I am sure I have plenty of spelling mistakes myself. Use correct grammar to the best of your knowledge. Posts here can take place in third or first person. But all posting will be in a standardized novel-type format. Your words are in quotes, etc.
Language Chat speak aside from lol, lmao, brb, and atm. Are not to be used. The acronyms I had just named off are allowed only in Out of Character (ooc) conversation. If I catch you using any chat speak other than the four aforementioned acronyms then you will receive a warning. Role-play language (such as calling your head a "dial" and your spine a "ladder") is not allowed. Period. Vulgar language is allowed. However, excessive use is not permitted. Foriegn language is allowed in very short passages. ProBoards TOS tells us that only English (if I remember right) is allowed here.
Old Posts/Open-Closed Posts Please do not bump up old threads unless you were already involved in a roleplay on that thread. Check the date before you post a reply. If there is more than three people roleplaying on a particular thread and you were not invited to join in, ask to join them. Do not just jump right in and irritate them. Threads marked as [closed] or [closed to other RPers] means exactly that. [Open] threads are free to join into without asking.
Killing and Vampire Wannabes There is to be no killing of another character unless both parties agree to the act. Plot it out in the Conspire board. Humans can be bitten and turned into vampires here. Read all the lore I have written about vampires and transformation to understand how and what may be involved.
Sexual Contact I do not normally allow this on my games. Here, however, I will make an exception. You MUST state in the title of your posts something along the lines of "Adult" or "Private." Something to let others and myself know that we do not want to be reading whatever you may be doing. Please, please, for those of you who do not want to take part in anything you do not want to, SAY IT! If you feel unconfortable with the situation either tell the person you are playing with in OOC or simply roleplay out of it. If you feel you are being pressured into something you do not want to do, private message me. Pressuring someone to do something they feel uncomfortable about doing is not allowed and is punishable.
Multiple Characters You may have as many characters on your account as you want. However, you must be able to play them. If you can't well, start to get rid of some of them.
Multiple Locations You can only be at one place at one time in real life. Try to keep your character down to one or two locations at a time.
Self Moderation I do not have my entire life to sit on the computer and read through posts to make sure everybody is following the rules, nor does Zo. I work full time and Zo has a life of her own. Therefore, you are charged with the responsibility to make sure you and your fellow roleplayers are following the rules. This does not mean you can point out their mistakes to them. This means, if you think someone is breaking the rules (such as powerplaying or impersonating) then you private message Zo or me (Aries). We will take care of the issue.
Magical Rules I can and will add and amend the rules to how the game and its peoples are conforming with or against them. If I see things I do not like or something that may apply to a rule but is not stated clearly enough then I will change things that will make it official. Arguing about "that rule wasn't up there when I did it" will not work with me. A few clicks here and there and poof, you're gone.
