Nestled into the Umpqua Forest, Eugene, Oregon is a very busy college town that bustles about 24/7. A very rainy urban oasis in the middle of dense green forest. Within this town, among the unsuspecting human race, live vampires, just like anywhere else in the world. Currently staying on the Northern outskirts are a coven of governing vampires dedicated to the keeping of the Code. The Code is the vampire law that all vampires must abide. Of course, there are delinquents.
Live as a vampire or human in the world of Ashen Nights. Abide by the Code or break it and face the consequences. Create your own coven or your own empire... For the vampire, the whole world is a playground.

My eyes remained glued to his in a paralyzed stare. No, I wasn't really paralyzed, it just felt like it. After discovering something like this, you really have no clue what to do.. Should I run? Should I stay and remain like I was before? Should I do anything at all? All of those questions were running laps in my mind. I just couldn't think of my next move.
I heard his first question, but ignored it. Obviously, he knew the answer. It was written all over my face. I had already removed my hand from his chest, and it hung loosely at my side. For a second, I even noticed how he had come to a slight crouching position, but, I didn't linger long on that detail. I was still shocked to discover he was in fact a vampire.
He asked if I had any questions, and that broke me out of my shock, and into a small laugh. "Any questions?" I asked, more of a laughing statement really. "No, atleast, not yet. I can't seem to get my mind off of the fact that you're a vampire.." I giggled again.
He reminded me of my promise, and I rolled my eyes playfully. "Like anyone would believe me anyways." I said, looking away for a moment before staring at him through the corner of my eye. "But, either way. A promise is a promise after all."
Two Humans, One Vampire. All three interluded in the same, crazy dream.

I was mystified. No running, no screaming. No questions. I'd been counting on all of it. I felt a sharp pang of something. I didn't quite know what it was. I smoothed my frame out, standing tall again. What boggled my further was that she was laughing. I wondered mildly if that was what I had intended when I had reminded her so childishly of this promise. It caused me to look at her, a crooked half smile pulling at my lips. It was so odd. She looked away, but I caught her eyes peering back at me through the corners.
"Brone won't be happy." I mused, thinking of my coven. Oh no. Not happy at all. But hadn't he too brought home a pet? Even if it only lasted a few hours, he had bent his own rules. So why couldn't I? I argued with myself. I shouldn't have said anything. I was damming her, but why the hell did it bother me so badly? A thoughtful 'hmmm' thrummed through my vocal chords.
"So, the cat is out of the bag...or vampire rather." I snickered. "I was waiting for something along the lines of screaming, and running away in terror." I took a casual step towarrd her. intent on closing the small space that exsisted. I held out my hand, for lack of better things to do. Is it morally wrong to kiss an older geezer of a vampire like me?" I though outloud. My nose crinkled. "Sorry, quite inappropriate." I made a face. Brone would surely not be happy about this. He'd have my ass. Fraternizing with a mortal.
