Nestled into the Umpqua Forest, Eugene, Oregon is a very busy college town that bustles about 24/7. A very rainy urban oasis in the middle of dense green forest. Within this town, among the unsuspecting human race, live vampires, just like anywhere else in the world. Currently staying on the Northern outskirts are a coven of governing vampires dedicated to the keeping of the Code. The Code is the vampire law that all vampires must abide. Of course, there are delinquents.
Live as a vampire or human in the world of Ashen Nights. Abide by the Code or break it and face the consequences. Create your own coven or your own empire... For the vampire, the whole world is a playground.

Vampires
Here is all the vampire lore needed to play Ashen Nights (AN). Here on AN the vampires you are used to playing may be a little different. Please read up on the vampires here so you can see what vampires can and cannot do so we are all on the same page while we are in character.

Vampires are to abide by "the Code" or face a visit from the current person enforcing them (me, haha). In character, of course.
The Smoke and Mirrors Act All vampires, worldwide, and of any age, must exercise upmost secrecy. Any vampire that lets a human(s) know of their existance may be terminated. Any human in knowledge that vampires exist must be terminated or, in vary rare cases, transformed into vampirism.
Sect. A There is to be no evidence of existance. All corpses must be properly disposed of. All traces of attack or evidence of vampire presence must be erased or properly disguised. Sect. B All offending vampires, depending on severity will on first offence receive a warning and increasing punishment for increasing offences. Blantent disregard for the Act or authority enforcing the act can result in termination of the vampire's existance. Sect C. Vampires are allowed to mingle within human society as long as they remain undected. If one feels that a human may be suspicious then, by law, the vampire is to move on.
Business Venture Act Due to the times of world economy, vampire-only ventures will be allowed to intergrate within the human poplace. Vampires are allowed to employ a human workforce as long as the human(s) involved are completely unaware of their employer(s) or business owner(s)/partner(s) vampirism. Refer to the Smoke and Mirrors Act paragraph one.
The Transformation Act Any vampire with the self-control and ability to transform a human into a vampire must assume all responsibilty for the new individual. New vampires may be referred to as "fledgling," "neophyte," "novice," or "newborn."
Sect A. The transformed vampire must be taught "the Code" and the importance to abide by it. The transformed vampire must not be set lose without the knowledge nor the understand on how to control the Thirst. Any out of control neophyte will have their existance terminated. Sect B. Any vampire that creates new vampires (Sire) without responsibilty or in the act of recklessness will be prosecuted. This also encludes the creation of vampire armies no matter the intent. Sect. C Children, encluding anyone age sixteen years and under, are not allowed to be changed. Dooming a being to an eternity as a child is strictly forbidden.
